Pistachio at TineK

Green I told you I have this thing with green. While I’m painting my toenails in a soft shade of sage, I’m letting my imagination gallop away by the A/W look at TineK. There’s something with the combination velvet and pistachio (that daybed/pouf is to die for!). Something with this earthy tone that allures me. How it picks up the mellow chlorophyll in plants. How it soothes the soul. It’s elegant. And sophisticated. Yet bohemian. And it marries beautifully with another infatuation of mine – brass. As it happens, while I’m sitting here writing this, I’m coming across the story behind the colour scheme of the collection. It is, de facto “influenced by the pale colours found in flower bouquets and botanic plants.” Well, spot on there.

Hemma hos köksjesus

Köpenhamns Köksjesus, skriver Residence. Och visst är det väl så. Kolla bara hantverket.

Summer feels

I must have flowers always and always – Claude Monet

Midsummer really got me going. My flower obsession got real with wreaths, bouquets and everything. You know, that certain summer feel there is on Midsummer’s Eve, it could be as rainy as ever, but you’re somehow in that summer mood anyway. Maybe it’s something Scandinavian. And I’ve always had this thing for flowers and big bold cut flower arrangements, the bigger and more exotic the better. Not so Scandinavian. Nowadays, when my house dreams have become more tangible then ever, I can’t stop thinking about blossom. About a big blooming garden, where I’d sit under an old apple tree eating pie and reading magazines. A leafy oasis where we’d sip tea in the evening and invite friends over to hang out late in the night. I’d pick flowers and bring as much of them inside as I possibly could carry. Flowers just make life more cheerful.

Thanks to my friends, after my graduation I’ve been fortunate to have a surplus of flowers around me despite the lack of my own – aforementioned, dream garden. So much flowers I allowed myself to make a Midsummer’s wreath of some of them. In true summer spirit.

Yes, please

Light, calmness, tranquility Yes, please. Been so tired the last couple of mornings I don’t even know how I’ve gotten up. So this bedroom inspo doesn’t come as a surprise. A big room, lots of light, soft muted colours. I wish I’d have a proper bedroom. The more I spend time back home in the smalltown I come from, the more I want to buy and renovate a house. A house with big windows, and plays of light I’d get to watch as the sun rises in the morning. That dreamy state of mind. Just laying in bed. (Imagine the Sundays). This bedroom styling from Ikea really fits the mood. I haven’t visited the warehouse in a very long time. Now I’m tempted by that bedside table made from a CYLINDER glass vase as a base and a SINNERLIG dish for the top. Perfection. Now sweet dreams.

Monochrome heaven

This really gives me the chills. Eller, Det tilltalar min monokroma ådra. Min bohemiska monokroma ådra. All that… Oh, no I can’t handle it. I cannot contain myself! There is glass, there is mirror, there are sculls, velvet pillows, ethnic elements, a mix of design classics, a modern kitchen in an old house, and wooden floors (some fishbone!). And all in black and white. A match of material, texture and style made in heaven. My monochrome bohemian heart skips several beats. I could live in this home – the home of Hanne Berzant, founder of By Nord Copenhagen.
